We're getting a new name! As result of technical changes taking place with our Internet Service Provider,
it is necessary to change our email "domain name". The domain name is the portion of the email address on the
right-hand side of the "@" symbol.
Effective immediately, our new domain name averyschools.net is active and available for you to use.
You may begin providing your contacts with your email address as, YourName@averyschools.net. You will not
need to notify other Avery County Schools employees of your address change. To ensure a smooth transition, the
original domain name avery.k12.nc.us will remain active until 9/1/2006. Mail
sent to the old address, YourName@avery.k12.nc, will be received as usual until 9/1/2006, at which time
messages sent to the old domain will return to the sender as undeliverable.
As you notify individual contacts, please be sure to provide your updated email address information to any
email groups and mailing lists to which you subscribe. Refer to the mailing list instructions for changing your
email address. In addition you may need to change email information for web site accounts that use your email address
as the identifier for access. Please remember to change any printed material such as letterhead
and business cards to reflect your new email address. Finally, make sure to change your electronic email signature
if your email address is included in that information.
