Goals

  1. Eliminate unnecessary referrals to Special Education through response to intervention model:

    • Early intervention
    • Improve general education support services
    • Train teachers in remediation
    • Research-based interventions will be documented by School Assistant Teams/General Education

  2. Assure that students with disabilities are held to the highest standards of accountability.

  3. Assure that students who are unnecessarily placed, or who no longer need services from Special Education are returned to supportive general education environments.

  4. Improve transition services for students to job placement and post-school outcomes.

  5. Continue to insure that students with disabilities are educated with non-disabled peers to the maximum extent in areas, which continue to train staff in CECAS meet their needs.

  6. Improve performance rate to 85% on End of Grade assessment in reading.

  7. Improve performance rate to 88% on the End of Grade assessment in math.

  8. Increase referral vs. eligibility percentage to 70% using a response to intervention model.

  9. Uniform School Assistance Team using the problem solving model
