Avery County High School is hosting a Curriculum Night next Monday, Feb. 18th, in the cafeteria from 6-8pm for all students who will be attending high school next year, and their families.
This is a great opportunity to find out about classes and graduation requirements, to meet our staff, and to see examples of the great things our students are doing now. ACHS has a lot to offer - come see for yourself!
Kindergarten registration will begin at the end of April. View our Kindergarten Registration page for more information, including the 2019 parent letter which has all the dates for registration at each school.
Pre-K registration will be taking place this April. Click here to view the flyer for more information.
We have been made aware of an email scam being sent to local businesses falsely claiming to be in partnership with Avery County High School asking for sponsorships. Please read our post on Facebook for more information and contact us before making any sponsorship deals to verify legitimacy.

2018-2019 School Year
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your family. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the young people of Avery County. We are committed to providing students and families the best educational experience possible. You and your family are very important to our school district, and we encourage you to be an advocate for education and the Avery County Schools.
I hope you take an active role in your child’s education by visiting their school and by taking part in the many opportunities you have to serve, such as becoming a volunteer or joining the PTA. Please know you are always welcome in our schools.
If you have questions or concerns regarding your child or their education, please feel free to contact my office at 828-733-6006 or via email at email@example.com. Our central office staff and I are always available to assist you.
Thank you again for allowing the Avery County Schools to serve you and your family.
