Newland Elementary School
We're excited to announce our 2018 Fall Festival on Thursday, October 25th. Make plans to join us for fun, food, inflatables, games, prizes and so much more! We'll be having a Silent Auction from 4:00-6:00 pm, and a Live Auction beginning at 6:00 pm!
Support Caring for the Coast aid efforts:
Effective immediately, the Avery County Schools will begin collecting non-perishable items (water, canned food, etc.) to be sent to those impacted by Hurricane Florence on the coast of North Carolina. Donations can be made at any of our schools or at the central office. Individual schools will also be sponsoring various events to assist in this endeavor. Donations will be accepted from now until October 12th. Thank you in advance for helping us help those in need. (Click here to view a flyer in PDF)
Fridays Oct 5 and Oct 12 will both be Hat Days at Newland Elementary. Students are asked to bring in either at least $1 or a non-perishable item such as canned food, a case of bottled water, or diapers in order to wear their hat. Everything collected will go to aid our neighbors down east impacted by Hurricane Florence. Please consider donating generously to help others. Thank you!
Avery County Schools are partnering with Western Youth Network to provide mentors and "lunch buddies" for some of our students. If you are interested in volunteering, know someone who might be or would like further info, please go to WYN's website. Thanks!
Parents, please remember how important it is for your student to be on time each day! Students need to be in their home room by 7:50am each day. Thank you!
