September Happenings

September is shaping up to be a busy month, and I wanted to share some upcoming professional development opportunities with you.

Professional Development Surveys - Deadline 9/14/2018

If you haven't completed the survey(s) for any sessions you attended during the August Professional Development Institute, please do that SOON!  The deadline for those responses is Friday, September 14th.  The survey will close after that date.  To access the survey, please visit:

Exploring Digital Tools - Fall online course

Registration is currently open for the Exploring Digital Tools - Fall online course.  If you are renewing your licensure soon, you may want to consider signing up for this course.  With the new licensure requirements, you will be required to have 2 CEU's in Digital Learning Competencies.  This course is worth up to 2.0 DLC CEU's.  This course encompasses all 4 Focus Areas and 15 of the 20 competencies for classroom teachers.  That's a LOT of information in one course offering!

This course is designed for administrators and educators pursuing professional development in digital integration for classroom instruction and general information.  Exploring Digital Tools will develop your knowledge and experience by using multiple digital tools designed for content creation, collaboration and digital communication.  Implementing the flipped classroom design, we will explore how technology can be used to foster content differentiation through digital integration and engage students in 21st century skills.

Fall Book Study

Looking for something to re-ignite your passion for teaching?

Join us for our first district wide book study!!!  We will be digging in to Dave Burgess' book "Teach Like a Pirate".  


We'll set sail on October 8th.   If you signed up to participate (during the Tech Institute) and were one of the first 10 to get on the list, you'll be receiving your copy of the book via interoffice mail, next week.  Be on the lookout!!

If you didn't sign up at the Tech Institute, but would love to participate, purchase your copy of the book and join us on October 8th via our book study Google+ community.  I'll be posting some info in that community prior to October 8th.  This book study can help you earn up to 1.0 DLC CEU's.
