Attention Rising 7th grade families! As we are approaching August and the return to school, please take note of this reminder. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Students entering 7th grade in August are required to have one dose each of the Tdap vaccine and the meningococcal vaccine. Please contact your child's health care provider or the Avery County Health Department to update vaccines. We do need proof of immunization upon return to school. By law, schools are required to prohibit any student from attending school until proof of immunization is provided to the school.
Thank you very much for your help. Please contact the school at 828.733.2932 with any questions."

Good evening this is Dr. J from Cranberry Middle. I hope you are enjoying your extended weekend. I have a few reminders for you that I need to share. I'll be brief so I don't take any more of your weekend than necessary. First, remember no school Monday as we observe the Memorial Day Holiday. Second, on Tuesday, we will have our Field Day and Water Slide. Students need to bring a towel and a change of clothes they don't mind getting dirty. We also need tear-free baby shampoo for the water slide. Finally, we need all students to return their iPads, cords and chargers on Tuesday as well as any library books they may have checked out.
If you have any questions, please call the school on Tuesday and we'll be glad to help. I hope you enjoy the rest of this long weekend. See you Tuesday.

Cranberry Middle and all Avery County schools will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observation of Memorial Day. We remember and honor those who sacrificed their lives in military service to our country.

Good evening this is Dr. J from CMS with some important information for our students and families. First, tomorrow, we will start our EOG tests as we near the end of the school year. Reading will be on Tuesday and Math will be on Wednesday. Our 8th graders will take their Science EOG on Thursday. We encourage our students to get a good night's sleep, eat some breakfast and come to school ready to do their best on their test! I'm proud of their hard work and know they will do well. Second, our 8th graders are bringing home a bright green flyer with lots of information about end of year activities. 8th grade parents, please review this with your student so you don't miss anything! As always, please feel free to call the school if you have any questions and we'll be glad to help. Thanks and have a great evening!

Attention current CMS 7th graders and families!! Thursday, May 23 at 5:30pm, we will have an informational meeting about our Spring 2025 trip to DC.
