Avery County Schools is proud to announce and celebrate the 2026 Teacher of the Year, Jade Evaul of Freedom Trail Elementary School.
Mrs. Evaul was selected from an outstanding group of educators who represent the very best of teaching and learning across Avery County. Her passion for education, dedication to students, and commitment to excellence make her a shining example of the impact one teacher can have in the lives of children.
The selection process was highly competitive, and the interview committee shared that this year’s decision was incredibly difficult due to the strength and caliber of all candidates. Mrs. Evaul’s professionalism, instructional leadership, and heartfelt care for her students ultimately distinguished her as this year’s top honor recipient.
