Good evening, Avery County Schools is using Infinite Campus this year for the student data management system. Infinite Campus is replacing Power School. Because of this change, students aren't able to view their schedules yet. Students in tenth and eleventh grades who would like to view their schedules are invited to sign up for a time on Tuesday August 6th, to meet with a counselor to view schedules for this year. Good evening, Freshman orientation will be on Friday, August 9th from 8:00 to 12:00. We encourage all incoming freshman to attend this event. Students will be given class schedules, tour the school, and participate in fun activities. Buses will run and lunch will be served. Students may be dropped off in the front of the school. Good evening, Senior parking passes will go on sale tomorrow for seniors only. Parking passes are $25. Payment may be made with cash or check. Office hours are 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Thursday. Parking spaces are first come, first serve. Please fill out and submit the parking pass contract when coming to purchase the pass. This can be found on the ACHS website and the Facebook page. Season athletic passes for Avery County High School can now be purchased for the 2024-2025 school year. Adult passes are $80, student passes are $25, and parking passes are $75. All passes will be sold in the front office at the high school. Please contact Benny Wellborn, athletic director, with any questions. Thank you.

Good evening, We will begin selling parking passes for Seniors on Monday, July 29th. Parking passes are $25. Seniors will be able to pick out a parking spot. This is first come, first serve. Students will need to fill out the Parking Pass contracts to submit when purchasing a pass. These contracts can be found on the ACHS website under Students and on ACHS's Facebook page. All student drivers must have a parking pass to park on campus. The front office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 5:00. Good evening, The Class of 2025 Senior Pictures will be taken on June 10th and 11th at the high school in the mid-level commons. Seniors must be photographed by Prestige to be included in the 2024-2025 yearbook. All seniors have the senior brunch at 10am tomorrow morning followed by graduation practice at 11am. Friday afternoon all seniors participating in graduation need to arrive at ACHS by 4:30pm with all of their regalia. Graduation will start promptly at 6:00pm. Also, any senior who has outstanding fines or hasn't turned in a computer will NOT be allowed to receive their diploma until those are taken care of. Thank you.

The IT department will be at school all day tomorrow and Friday to collect MacBooks. Students who still owe money for fees, please come to school to pay these fees by Friday morning. Good morning, The Capping ceremony for seniors will be held tonight beginning at 6:00 in the gym. The ceremony will be live streamed for those not able to attend. A link to the live stream will be placed on the Avery High School website. There will be a table set up in the mid-level commons for seniors to turn in MacBooks and pay any fees that are owed. If seniors are not sure if they have fees, they may ask tonight. Please remember MacBooks and fees need to be paid before graduation. We look forward to seeing everyone this evening.

Tomorrow, May 28th, we will begin CTE testing. Students who have a State Assessment during the 1st or 2nd period will test on Tuesday, May 28th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Students with a CTE State assessment during the 3rd or 4th period will test on Wednesday, May 29th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Please be sure your Macbooks are fully charged. If you have any questions about when your child is testing, please email their teacher. Thank you.

Good evening, Rising 12 grade students are required by NC State Law to have a second dose of the meningococcal vaccine prior to entering the 12th grade. Please check with your child's health care provider or the Avery County Health Department to make sure he/she is up to date on vaccines prior to the start of the school year in August. The first day of school is August 14, 2024. Thank you.

Good evening, All students will need to turn in their MackBooks, chargers, and cases by the end of the school year. The IT department is set up outside of the media center to collect MacBooks.
