Good evening this is Dr. J from CMS with some important information for our students and families. First, tomorrow, we will start our EOG tests as we near the end of the school year. Reading will be on Tuesday and Math will be on Wednesday. Our 8th graders will take their Science EOG on Thursday. We encourage our students to get a good night's sleep, eat some breakfast and come to school ready to do their best on their test! I'm proud of their hard work and know they will do well. Second, our 8th graders are bringing home a bright green flyer with lots of information about end of year activities. 8th grade parents, please review this with your student so you don't miss anything! As always, please feel free to call the school if you have any questions and we'll be glad to help. Thanks and have a great evening!
Attention current CMS 7th graders and families!! Thursday, May 23 at 5:30pm, we will have an informational meeting about our Spring 2025 trip to DC. We'll meet in the cafeteria and share some preliminary info about the trip as well as ideas about fundraising leading up to our trip. We would like to see ALL our 7th grade families represented at this meeting. Let us know if you have any questions!

ATTENTION 8TH GRADE FAMILIES: Our 8th grade promotion program will now be held on Wednesday, May 29, starting at 5pm. Originally, we were planning on Tuesday, May 28, but there is a conflict for many of our families with the Capping ceremony at Avery High. We want everyone to be able to attend both so we need to move our ceremony. Our program should last about 90 minutes and we are looking forward to honoring our 8th graders for completing this important milestone in their lives.

We had a great trip to Washington with our 8th graders! Proud of our students for how they handled themselves and greatly appreciate all the work our teachers put into the trip. Glad to have some outstanding parents with us as well! Special thanks to Kenny Ward for his always excellent planning and leadership on this trip.

We are so proud of our SkillsUSA students who competed at the state conference last week. We have 20 first place winners that are eligible for the National conference in Atlanta this summer. We are so proud of these students for their dedication.

Some of our 8th graders in CTE class got to go to the Be Pro Be Proud truck today at the high school. They were able to explore different trades through simulators and VR headsets.

On Friday, April 12, Freedom Trail and Cranberry Middle will have a school wide hat day with all proceeds going to Ms. Alesia Woody and her mother as her mother battles cancer. Students may wear a hat for $1 but we encourage you to send extra if you can. Thank you in advance!
