Friday will be our first nine weeks awards day in the gym.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd will begin at 2:00 and 3rd, 4th, and 5th will begin at 2:30.
Students receiving awards have been notified by their teacher.
Please be aware that our school day may run over about 10 minutes due to awards day.

Wednesday will be our annual Woolly Worm Races. If your child would like to participate in our woolly worm races please send a woolly worm to school with your child on Wednesday. After our Woolly Worm Races, Banner Elk Kiwanis Club will be here to buy the students' worms. If they would like to sell their woolly worms or any additional worms that they have found they may do it at this time. The Kiwanis Club will pay $1 for each worm a student would like to sell. If students do not wish to sell their worms they do not have to.

Hello. Thursday and Friday are Parent music days. Our first PTO and School Improvement Team meeting will be Tuesday, September 26th at 6:00. Following those meetings at 7:00 will be our 5th Grade Charleston Trip meeting. Picture proofs will be coming home tomorrow. All orders are due back by September 29th.

Today we conducted a practice lockdown drill. The drill went great as we were assisted by the Avery County Sheriff's Department.
