Hello 5th Grade Parents,

Today, your child should have brought home the Charleston Trip Information Letter and information about our MoonPie Fundraiser. Please take a few minutes to look over each of these carefully, as they contain important information about our upcoming trip and fundraising opportunities.

A special note about the Charleston Trip Letter:
The last page is the Chaperone Intent Form. Please complete the form in its entirety and send it back to school as soon as possible. Our Charleston Parent Meeting will be on Thursday, September 10th @ 6:00 PM in the Crossnore Elementary School Library. This is a parent-only meeting and students do not need to attend.

We know this is a lot of information, but we are excited about this opportunity for our 5th graders! Charleston is going to be a wonderful experience, and we want to make sure our students and families are prepared and ready to enjoy every minute of it.

Hello Crossnore Families, Please remember these three important dates: *Tomorrow is Picture Day *Hat Day Friday *No School Monday for the Labor Day Holiday. 5th grade parents: Please look for a 5th grade trip information letter tomorrow. At the end of the letter will be a Chaperone intent form if you would please fill it out and send it back to school. Here are a few important reminders for tomorrow: School begins: 8:00 a.m. Doors open: 7:30 a.m. (This is the earliest time students may be dropped off.) Thank you to our PTO for the wonderful taco bar and gifts today, and to the parents who helped provide duty-free lunch for our staff. We also sincerely appreciate all of the families who have brought goodies, pizza, snacks, and lunch items throughout the week. Your kindness and generosity have meant so much to our teachers and staff.

A special shout-out goes to Emily Singleton for organizing two amazing Parent Art Days. It was wonderful to see so many parents and students creating art and enjoying that special time together.

Crossnore Elementary is truly a special place because of our incredible teachers, students, families, and community. Thank you for your continued support of our school and for all you do to make Crossnore Elementary such a great place to learn and grow.

Please come out to our Spring Fling! The Spring Fling is from 5:30–8:00pm.
The theme is “Flashback Through the Decades,” so come ready to celebrate with us! We’ll have plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including games and inflatables. Some favorites—like face painting, bingo, the cakewalk, and more—will be available for a small additional charge.

Admission is $5.00, and we’ll also have food and treats available:
*Pizza meals for $6
*Cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones for $2 each

For your convenience, a shuttle will be running from Crossnore First Baptist Church to the school to help with overflow parking.

Lastly, All raffle tickets are due first thing in the morning. Please make sure to get them turned in.

Good evening Crossnore families, We’re excited to invite you to our Spring Fling this Friday! Admission is $5, and all proceeds will go directly back to supporting our students. We’d love to see you there, so please come out, have some fun, and help make this event a success for our school community!

We will be holding a mandatory Charleston Trip meeting tomorrow at 6:00 PM. If you or your child will be going on this trip a parent or guardian or the person going must be present at this meeting. We will review all important details, and there will be required forms that must be signed that evening.

The Charleston Trip is scheduled for April 29th, 30th, and May 1st.

Lastly, some students have not yet submitted their baby pictures. Please note that students who do not turn in a baby picture will not be included in the 5th grade slideshow during the promotion ceremony.

Good morning Parents and Guardians,
This morning our school successfully completed a lockdown drill in coordination with the Avery County Sheriff’s Department. The drill went smoothly, and our students and staff did a great job following the procedures that help keep everyone safe.
I wanted to share this update in case your student mentions the drill or has questions at home. Practicing these procedures helps ensure that we are prepared and able to respond quickly if a real emergency were ever to occur.
