We are now collecting pre-filled Easter eggs for our school Easter Egg Hunt during the first week of April.

Students will be bringing home a handout with their grade level themed raffle basket for our Spring Fling on May 1.
We ask that families please consider sending 1–2 items that fit your child’s grade level basket theme.

First, yearbook information: Yearbooks are now available for purchase online. Please see our post on ClassDojo and Facebook, as well as the flyer that will be sent home.
Early order price: $25 if ordered by December 31st
Regular price: $30 from January 1st through March 15th
Please remember that March 15th is the firm final deadline, and all yearbooks must be purchased by that date.
Our fifth graders have begun their RADA cutlery fundraiser to support their Charleston trip. If you would like to purchase, you may order online through our ClassDojo or Facebook page, or you can order directly from a fifth-grade student.
We will have our Thanksgiving meal this Tuesday, November 18th. Please see the posted flyer for lunch times. If you plan to attend and haven’t paid, the cost is $6 per adult, and each child may have up to two adults join them.
Also on Tuesday the 18th, popcorn pickup for students who sold popcorn will be at 3:00 PM.
For clubs this week:

Good News Club will meet on Wednesday the 19th until 4:00 PM.
Our November PTO meeting originally scheduled for the 13th has been rescheduled to Friday, December 5th to help set up for our Handmade Holidays event. If you are able to help us after school that day, we would greatly appreciate it.
A reminder that Thanksgiving Break will be November 26th, 27th, and 28th. Students will return to school on Monday, December 1st.
We hope you will join us for our Handmade Holidays event on Saturday, December 6th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for Christmas shopping, food, and fun.
Finally, our Christmas Program presented by our students will be on Thursday, December 11th at 6:00 PM in the Riverside gym.

First, with the possibility of snow on Monday, we are sending home remote learning packets and iPads. Please encourage your child not to open their packet or folder unless an all call is made announcing Remote Day 1. There is no need to remove anything from their backpack unless we officially call a remote learning day next week.
On Tuesday, November 11th, we will have no school in honor of Veterans Day. We are very thankful for all who have given their life and service for our country.
On Wednesday, November 12th, we will have Good News Club after school until 4:00 PM. We will also have Fall Picture Makeups. If your child needs their picture remade, or if they were not here on our Fall Picture Day, they will have their photo taken. You may order online using your child’s student ID number. If you are unsure of that number, please call the front office or contact your child’s teacher.
Looking ahead, our Thanksgiving Meal will be on November 18th, and we do need families to RSVP. Each child may have up to two guests attend. The meal cost is six dollars and includes a traditional Thanksgiving menu. Meal times are posted online. Also on November 18th, we will have popcorn delivery for anyone who placed an order.
Our Thanksgiving Break will be from November 26th through the 28th.
We are excited to host our Handmade Holidays event on Saturday, December 6th from 10 to 2. We will have 30+ vendors, student-made crafts, and several food and drink options including the Smash Burgers Food Truck, Sip Soda, and Red Barn Coffee.
Lastly, please note a very important change: Our Christmas Program date has been moved. Instead of Tuesday, December 9th, it will now be held on Thursday, December 11th to avoid conflicts with other school concerts.

Our PTO meeting will be Tuesday night at 6 o’clock here at Riverside. If you plan to attend, please RSVP so we know how much pizza to order.
The Dental Bus will be on campus Tuesday, October 21st for students who are already registered. Please remember there will not be a make-up date for this visit.
We are asking families to send in candy for our trick-or-treat hallways on October 31st. Please send that in by Tuesday, October 29th.
Our online spirit wear store will close October 31st as well. Be sure to place your orders or turn in payment by then if you’d like to get Riverside hoodies, t-shirts, or crewnecks.
Finally, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, October 23rd, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Please make sure you’ve signed up for a time or requested a phone conference if you can’t attend in person.

👉 Tuesday, October 7th will be Wear It Pink Day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage everyone to wear pink to show support.
👉 Wednesday, October 8th, students may bring a woolly worm to school if they’d like. We will hold grade level woolly worm races during PE time. Winners from each grade level will advance to our school finale race on Tuesday. From there, we will crown two Riverside champions—a Pre-K through 2nd grade winner and a 3rd through 5th grade winner. These winners will receive a VIP package and free entry to represent Riverside at the Woolly Worm Festival on Sunday, October 19th.
👉 Also on Wednesday afternoon, our Good News Club will meet until 4:00 p.m. for students enrolled.
👉 Don’t forget about our fundraisers. We still have one more week for our popcorn fundraiser—a delicious local product from Tennessee. Order forms are due soon! In addition, our school spirit wear shop is open. Flyers went home, and you can also find the link on Facebook and ClassDojo. Please remember to include your child’s name on orders so we can get your items to the right place.
