We will have YES Club on Monday, October 20th, and Good News Club on Wednesday, October 22nd after school.
Our PTO meeting will be Tuesday night at 6 o’clock here at Riverside. If you plan to attend, please RSVP so we know how much pizza to order.
The Dental Bus will be on campus Tuesday, October 21st for students who are already registered. Please remember there will not be a make-up date for this visit.
We are asking families to send in candy for our trick-or-treat hallways on October 31st. Please send that in by Tuesday, October 29th.
Our online spirit wear store will close October 31st as well. Be sure to place your orders or turn in payment by then if you’d like to get Riverside hoodies, t-shirts, or crewnecks.
Finally, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, October 23rd, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Please make sure you’ve signed up for a time or requested a phone conference if you can’t attend in person.

Hey Eagle families! 🦅 Here are your reminders for this week:
🍿 Popcorn Fundraiser – All money & order forms are due Thursday, October 16th. Please send those in by Thursday morning!
🙏 Good News Club – Wednesday from 2:45–4:00 PM. Please make sure your child has a ride at 4:00.
🐛 Woolly Worm Collection – Thursday, October 16th! Festival reps will be here to buy worms from students for $1 each (up to 30 worms = $30).
⏰ Early Dismissal Friday, October 17th at 12:00 PM.
🚫 No afterschool care on Friday.
👕 Spirit Wear Shop – Don’t forget to check out our online shop for Riverside shirts, hoodies, and gear!
🍬 Trick-or-Treat Candy Donations – Please send in individually wrapped candy by Wednesday, October 29th so our teachers can hand it out during our hallway “Trick-or-Treat” on October 31st.
🎄 Handmade Holidays Vendor Event – Saturday, December 6th from 10:00–12:00 sponsored by our amazing RES PTO! We already have 22 vendors signed up—come shop local and support Riverside! 🛍️

👉 Tuesday, October 7th will be Wear It Pink Day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage everyone to wear pink to show support.
👉 Wednesday, October 8th, students may bring a woolly worm to school if they’d like. We will hold grade level woolly worm races during PE time. Winners from each grade level will advance to our school finale race on Tuesday. From there, we will crown two Riverside champions—a Pre-K through 2nd grade winner and a 3rd through 5th grade winner. These winners will receive a VIP package and free entry to represent Riverside at the Woolly Worm Festival on Sunday, October 19th.
👉 Also on Wednesday afternoon, our Good News Club will meet until 4:00 p.m. for students enrolled.
👉 Don’t forget about our fundraisers. We still have one more week for our popcorn fundraiser—a delicious local product from Tennessee. Order forms are due soon! In addition, our school spirit wear shop is open. Flyers went home, and you can also find the link on Facebook and ClassDojo. Please remember to include your child’s name on orders so we can get your items to the right place.
👉 Finally, mark your calendars for our Handmade Holidays Event hosted at Riverside on Saturday, December 6th. We are currently seeking local vendors who sell homemade crafts or locally made products. If you are interested, please see the posting on Facebook or ClassDojo to fill out a vendor application and reserve your spot.

September 24th is See Ya At the Pole. We will meet at the flagpole for a short prayer and song in honor of this international event for anyone who would like to attend.

School Spirit Friday – wear Riverside colors or gear
Friday is an early dismissal at 12:00 PM, and there is no After-School program on early dismissal days.
A gentle reminder that our regular dismissal is 2:45 PM. To protect instructional time, please avoid early checkouts unless there’s an emergency—thank you for partnering with us on this.
Good News Club will meet Wednesday after school this week.
Our next YES Club meeting will be October 20th.
Finally, we’re selling snacks in the cafeteria this year. Students may bring cash or check—there is no online payment option at this time. Items include chips, popcorn, cookies, Rice Krispie Treats, fruit snacks, and Switch sparkling juice. The item list and prices are posted on our ClassDojo and Facebook pages.

We have several exciting events coming up this week:
🌟 Grandparents Day will be held on Tuesday, September 9th during your child’s lunchtime. Plates are $6 each. Please arrive on time but not early, as parking will be very limited. After lunch, grandparents will also have the opportunity to shop the Book Fair with their student.
📚 The Book Fair will run all week, Monday through Friday. Students may shop during their specials time if they bring money. Parents are also invited to shop Friday afternoon after dismissal from 2:45–4:00 PM.
🙌 Two of our clubs will begin next week: YES Club meets on Monday, September 8th, and Good News Club will meet for the first time on Wednesday.

First, thank you for a wonderful start to the school year! We appreciate your diligence in getting students here on time so they have plenty of time for breakfast.
🚪 Doors open at 7:30 each morning, the tardy bell rings at 7:50, and dismissal is at 2:45 each afternoon.
🍎 Breakfast and lunch are free for all students this year.
📞 If you need to make changes to your child’s afternoon plans, please call the front office before 1:30 each day.
Be on the lookout for our Skip-the-Line Fundraiser flyer coming home this week.
✏️ Our 3rd graders will be taking the B.O.G. test this Wednesday, so please be sure they come well-rested and on time.
Finally, please return all student demographic and paperwork forms as soon as possible.
