Registration is open for all YMCA fall youth recreation programs for students in grades pre-K – 5th grade. Fall Recreation programs include rec soccer, swim team, SPIRIT dance program and club basketball. Monday, August 26th is the last day to sign up for some of these programs. Attention Rising 7th grade families: Students entering 7th grade in August are required to have one dose each of the Tdap vaccine and the meningococcal vaccine. Please contact your child's health care provider or the Avery County Health Department to update vaccines. We do need proof of immunization upon return to school. By law, schools are required to prohibit any student from attending school until proof of immunization is provided to the school. Thank you very much for your help. Good evening, as a rising 6th grader, your child will be issued a take home iPad to complete their school work. Before the device can be taken home, there are required orientation activities that must be completed.

Avery County High Lady Vikings will be conducting a Fastpitch Youth Day Camp for 3-5 & 6-8. This will take place at the Vikings Highschool Home Field. This camp will be facilitated by the coaching staff but coached by the Lady Vikings Players. We will work on Pitching, Hitting, as-well-as, drills & Skills to improve overall development. You can register your future Fastpitch All-Star with Avery Parks and Recreation.
