Avery County High Lady Vikings will be conducting a Fastpitch Youth Day Camp for 3-5 & 6-8. This will take place at the Vikings Highschool Home Field. This camp will be facilitated by the coaching staff but coached by the Lady Vikings Players. We will work on Pitching, Hitting, as-well-as, drills & Skills to improve overall development. You can register your future Fastpitch All-Star with Avery Parks and Recreation.

7th grade awards will be held tomorrow morning at 9:00 in the AMS cafeteria.
Tomorrow is an early release day. AMS will dismiss at 11:45.
Weekly Announcements May 27-31
There will be no school tomorrow in remembrance of the Memorial Day holiday.
All iPads, chargers and cases must be returned by Tuesday of this week. Please note, we are unable to accept non-Apple iPad chargers.
Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday.
The 8th grade promotion ceremony will be held on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 in the Avery High gym.
Thursday is the last day of school and an early dismissal day. Avery Middle will dismiss at 11:45. Thank you to all of our staff, students and families for making this a successful and memorable school year. Have a great summer!

Weekly Announcements May 20-24
We will administer EOG tests this week beginning with 8th grade science on Tuesday, Reading for all grades on Wednesday and Math for all grades on Thursday. Please make sure your students arrive at school on time and are well rested. iPads should also be fully charged. Please encourage your students to take their time and do their best on each test.
The Athletic Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday beginning at 6:00 in the AMS cafeteria.
The 8th grade promotion ceremony will be held on May 29th beginning at 5:00 in the Avery High gym.

Weekly Announcements May 13-17
There will be a Board of Education meeting on Tuesday at 6:00 at Central Services.
We will have a School Improvement Team meeting on Thursday at 3:00 in the AMS Media Center.
There will be a chorus concert on Thursday evening at 7:00 at First Baptist Church Crossnore.
The end of the year yearbook social will be held on Friday from 3:00-5:00. The cost is $5 and concessions will be sold at an additional cost. Wear your best beach attire! The top 2 beach bums will win a prize! Students must be picked up by 5:15 in the lower parking lot, and they must have a permission slip to stay.

Great performances tonight by the Avery Middle School bands!
Dental hygienists will be at Avery Middle, starting tomorrow, doing dental sealants for those students who have brought in a signed consent form. This form was sent home a few weeks ago. If you would like your child to participate, you can send the signed form in tomorrow. There are also extra forms at school if you'd like to complete it first thing in the morning. This is a free service.
