The Avery County Board of Education proudly recognized students for their exceptional Christmas artwork, which has been selected to feature on the 2025 digital Avery County Schools Christmas card.
The Board of Education honored the following students during their recent meeting:
Elementary School: Scarlett Edwards de Souza – 4th Grade (RES)
Middle School: Ava Rawly – 8th Grade (CMS)
High School: Layken Arnett – 11th Grade (ACHS)
Overall Winner: Victoria Leon Quintero – 8th Grade (CMS)
Board of Education Winner: Mattie Buchanan – 3rd Grade (NES)
Each student was recognized for their creativity and dedication. Their artwork will be showcased on the 2025 digital Christmas card, which was unveiled for the first time during the meeting.
The Christmas card will be distributed to all staff and school systems across North Carolina, highlighting the incredible talent of Avery County students and bringing festive cheer to the wider education community.
