On July 1, 2026, during a Special Called Meeting of the Avery County Board of Education, Avery County Schools proudly welcomed its two newest Board members, Ms. Lan Holtsclaw and Mr. Coleman Bailey.
The Honorable Teresa Benfield administered the Oath of Office, officially swearing in both new members. Their willingness to serve reflects a commitment to the students, staff, families, and communities of Avery County.
