On Thursday, January 9th, Avery County Schools will operate on a 3 hour delay. Our buses cannot travel on gravel roads nor on the following roads: Curtis Creek, Alton Palmer, Barlow, Russ Norris, Flat Springs, Buckeye, Little Henson Creek, Reservoir Hill, Old Jonas Ridge, Dogwood Knob, Buckeye Hollow, Tucker Hollow nor on Powdermill Creek Road. On December 20th, Newland Elementary will release at 11:40am, Avery Middle at 11:50am and all other schools will release at 12:00pm.

Registration is open for all YMCA winter youth recreation programs for students in grades 3rd - 8th. Winter recreation programs include Club Volleyball and Winter Basketball.
